Default Glitch in PTRevealer action v2

While evaluating Portraiture I am trying out the newly posted actions. I thought that you should know that the PTRevealer action fails for me. It stops with this message:

The object "layer "Background"" is not currently available.

I'm using PS CS3 on a Mac. I had renamed my image's background layer.

The other thing I ran into was that a couple of the actions do a 'flatten image' rather than just flatten down a specific layer or two. Since I was testing actions one at a time on a layer cloned from an original and thus had a fair stack of images, the flatten down simply destroyed my nice collection of images. Thank goodness for undo! :-)

Not a glitch but as intended on the action execution. A select layer command doesn't allow for a dialog to rename or select a specific layer and has to have something hard coded in, hence the standard PS name for the first layer, background. This is one of the major weaknesses of PS actions that I abhor, but fortunately, most people never rename the original background layer.
The actions are as simple as possible so they are workable for the majority of our customers both in single and batch mode usage. It is a simple matter to tweak each action to your heart's content once you see what the intended process is.
Thanx for the feedback,
George

George, thanks for the clarification. Hopefully these implicit assumptions will make it into the documentation eventually.

PS Actions are still a new thing for me, so I'm figuring out how to edit existing ones. I think it's terrific that you supply so many examples of Portraiture tweaking. They very quickly showed me the range of possibilities and (I'm sure you'll be glad to know) pretty-much made my purchase decision for me. :-)

Default You're welcome

We're in the process of evaluating more educational aspects of the website and our plugin usage. We're at work on some cool presets for both Portraiture 2 and Realgrain, plus some new videos for Portraiture 2. Things like the presets and actions, as they are free, may not have as indepth documentation as there could be because we're a small shop and our resources on issues like these are limited. But we do strive to offer things that others make you pay for (like free updates and actions) and to also offer the best customer support on the planet.
Regards,
George
PS..If you have any questions regarding any of the action use just let me know.
